So we’re going to be fixing up our little blog here at Cossette East. One of the things we will be doing is tagging our posts to help categorize them better. To help usability, create a tag cloud, etc, etc, etc.
So the question came up, what do we call that catch all category for the posts that we write that are so interesting and amusing, and yet, really don’t belong to any of our usual categories? The consensus around here was to use the term “random”.

So those of you who are members of the Twitterati may already know what the Fail Whale is. For the rest of us, here’s the 411. The Fail Whale is a now iconic image of a giant white whale being hoisted up by tiny, yet determined little orange birds (twitter users). I recently came across an article that stated that a recent workplace poll shows that the poor time management of co-workers has surpassed office gossip as the biggest workplace pet peeve. Poor time management even ranks above messiness in shared spaces!
It really got me thinking. If the poor time management of your co-workers bugs you *more than anything else*, how do you feel about service providers who are late? We’ve all been there… waiting for the cable guy or the repair person who is supposed to show up. You took the day off work to be home, rearranged your day/life based on a promise. What happens when we fail to deliver on what we promise?

Remember when you got your first solar powered calculator? I was fascinated by how the display brightened up immediately when held up to the window. Children in classrooms everywhere took a break from calculator spelling various titillating words to hide and un-hide the solar cell on their calculator and verify that this was not magic but an actual relationship between light and the device in their hand.
